Our sweet Tobey,
You are already so missed by us. As each year passed us by, we knew that this day will eventually come. Nothing could ever prepare us for the heartbreak of letting you go.
Your heart was so full of joy and happiness. You never wanted to see us upset or sad and knew that if you kept trekking along in your usual ways, we might not notice what has been going on in the inside. Slowly, you were suffering and in so much pain. But you fought hard to keep us happy and kept wagging that big blonde and white bushy tail of yours letting us know that it was all going to be okay. However, in the past few days you’ve showed us that it was time to start letting go. Our last 24 hours with you were just perfect. You were surrounded by your family and friends and because of your big heart, you gave your love back in return greeting everyone while wagging your big tail back and forth. Seeing your energy, we almost changed our minds and that was until you had another seizure. At that moment, we knew it would be selfish of us to keep you here.
We still remember a little more than ten years ago, you came into our lives. With you, Ada had her sidekick and we had our faithful companion. You loved everyone Tobey. You always greeted your guests with your back and always asked for it to be scratched. You suckered guests by letting you sit on the outdoor patio chair with them. All because of your big huge heart and smile. We’re going to miss you sitting by your daddy’s chair, sitting in front of the fireplace as we watch TV, and putting your head right under your mommy’s arm to pet you. The house already seems so empty without you.
Tobey, you deserve to be happy elsewhere and with no pain. It breaks our hearts to see you suffer. So yesterday morning we spent our morning with you at a park, got you a Starbucks puppuccino, and fed you your favorites – bananas and apples. We took a short walk and a nice man saw us with you and offered to take a photo. That was tough because we knew that would be one of our last moments with you. Behind our sunglasses were bags under our eyes filled with tears for you Tobey. We then took you home to spend it with your other doggy sisters, Ada and Bessie. You got your In-N-Out patties and had more glorious treats. Finally you sat on the sofa you were never allowed on and probably hugged you way too much before it was time. With your final steps you continued to wag your tail and showed us that you weren’t scared to go. After your last breath and hugging and kissing you one last time, we looked up at the sky and saw how beautiful yesterday was. There were beautiful white puffy clouds above, with a big bright blue sky. Bright just like your spirit.
We are the lucky ones to have been blessed by your company and presence for all these years. What an amazing life you had! You’ve been to so many places and we wish we could’ve taken you to more. But now, you are going to be traveling around with all your other doggy friends that have left this world and entered yours. Thank you for allowing us to love you and for loving us back 100 times more. We haven’t stopped crying for you our sweet Tobey. Ada and Bessie are constantly searching for you. Over time, we know that things will get better but we will always miss you.
Tobey, we love you so much and we always will. Thank you for over ten years of love and friendship. We just hate that your time with us wasn’t as long as we wanted it to be. Wherever you are, our memories of you will always fill our hearts with joy. We know you are in paradise now. You are truly special to us and will always be our big guy. We can’t wait till we see you again someday and give you more big hugs and kisses. You are so loved Tobey.
We love you,
Your mommy and daddy

Spending some time with our Tobey as he enjoys his Starbucks puppuccino and In-N-Out pup patties.
After we said “see you later” to Tobey, we took the other two to the same park we went with Tobey that morning and walked around for a bit and snapped a few photos. (ps…we didn’t release the balloon)
Exactly how we want to remember Tobey. He was always all smiles.
Hi Everyone,
We wanted to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the messages of love. Every single message that was sent through our blog, emails, texts and even on Facebook was read by us and we are touched. Everyone has gotten to know Tobey’s goofy smile either personally or through what we’ve shared over the years on social media. Thank you for loving Tobey. He is missed every single day by us. Never miss a moment to tell that person you love how much you love them. “Where there is deep grief, there was great love.” – C&T
