Since last December, not only did I have the privilege to photograph gorgeous weddings, I now have the honor to be my little sister’s Matron of Honor. Tania and her fiancé Kevin are finally tying the knot this June! Being in the wedding industry, I’ve happily become the “go-to” person for my sister for all her vendor needs and wedding advice. Being the big sister that I am, I don’t mind letting them know what looks good for photos and adding input to what details her bouquet should have for the big day. I guess I’ve defaulted to become the wedding planner and I definitely don’t mind. Anything for her! 🙂
Last weekend, I threw my sister her bachelorette shower (bachelorette party + bridal shower) in Orange County. We started our day at TSpoons Cooking School in San Juan Capistrano. I had Tania pick out our lunch menu (items listed below in the first photo) and it was DELISH! Aside from group cooking classes, TSpoons offers other courses and even ones specifically for date night!
After our lunch, I along with our cousins rushed over to the Island Hotel in Newport Beach to set up for the rest of the day. I knew exactly what my sister had envisioned for herself and I wanted to semi-match it with the theme of her wedding. Since Tania’s wedding theme involved lace and doilies, I included those in her bachelorette invitations and signage. Planning this day out allowed me to get crafty once again (its a bit of a stress reliever for me) and I ended up making the wine glass tumbler cups for the ladies, lavender body scrub, streamers, and the signage as I mentioned. Bride was definitely excited to see it all come together!
Nope, I didn’t nail or tack anything to the walls. 🙂 I am the biggest fan of 3M Command Decorating Clips!
Once the ladies arrived from their afternoon of shopping at Fashion Island, we enjoyed a few cocktails in the suite and got ready for our dinner at Lark Creek restaurant. I reserved one of their private event rooms which worked out for our group. Unfortunately, I didn’t take any pics of the food since I got preoccupied having fun with the girls. But I did end up making a last minute slideshow and included a few of the girls who couldn’t come out to celebrate, which ended up being a nice surprise for Tania. For the rest of the evening, we headed back to our suite, enjoyed more cocktails and played some shower games with the bride-to-be! Thanks for the great time ladies and I look forward to seeing everyone at the wedding in June!!
