Oh WOW. Where do we begin. Earlier this month we had the honor to be take part in Ursula + Chet’s amazing celebration of their marriage. This first segment will feature the groom, Chet since we were at his family’s home for their Graha Shanti ceremony also known to their friends and family – Chet’s marinate ceremony (you’ll see why at towards the end of this post). The Graha Shanti is simply a pre-wedding ritual that kicks off the celebration to Chet’s and Ursula’s wedding day. The family had a Hindu priest perform the ceremony which was quite beautiful. As for Chet’s marinade – well his family basically rubbed a mixture of turmeric and other spices on him as a way to get prepped for the big day! All of the gorgeous vibrant colors is just a small glimpse into what we have coming for the rest of this week featuring Ursula + Chet’s celebration.
Stunning henna art. This image is of Chet’s mother’s hands. We love that she incorporated her family on the right side of her wrist and included the initials of her children-in law on her left wrist. The blending of two families….beautiful.
The start of Chet’s rub-down!
