The week before An’s and Phong’s wedding, we exchanged messages checking the weather hour-by-hour. Each day gave us different forecasts – 30% chance of rain, 60% chance of rain – it was driving us all bananas. Regardless of the weather, we always come prepared with at least 6-8 matching umbrellas on hand -just in case. Luckily, our awesome friends in the web world did a happy rain-go-away dance for An and Phong. We are so thankful for starting out our 2011 wedding season with just an awesome day!
An and Phong, you two are quite the duo. We are so honored to be a part of it all – the shopping of An’s engagement ring, announcement of your engagement, engagement photo sessions, boudoir photo session, and to finally your wedding. Your celebration of nine years together and the start of a new life was truly amazing filled with lots of happy tears, laughter, and love. We are so lucky to have such good friends in our lives and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for you both. Wishing you all the best! With love, Cam&Tracy
WARNING: wedding cuteness overload with tons of photographs! Both An and Phong spent a lot of time in creating the details of their wedding day. We seriously had a difficult time narrowing down what photographs we wanted to share because they spent a great deal personalizing their momentous occasion. Take a closer look and enjoy!
==============
The wedding day started out with the boys taking their bikes out for a nice ride out on the Back Bay loop in Newport Beach.
The invitations matched their bicycle inspired engagement session and custom designed by the groom!
Many thanks to Tammy Greenwood for glamming An up!
We love when couples exchange gifts and add their own personal element – Phong left a video message for An.
Our prior post was An’s boudoir gift for Phong. For some reason right before the wedding An had a haunch that Phong knew about the session so she got him a remote control helicopter to throw him off. Soon after, he received the real gift.
An’s beautiful jewelry was from Valerie Phan of Stella and Dot!
One of An’s bridesmaids had a bicycle belt buckle which was sooo fitting for their theme!
After the bride and groom got ready, we headed to UC Irvine (their alma mater) for the first look. Again, we LOVE LOVE LOVE when our couples incorporate a first look into their wedding day. It’s truly special to have an uninterrupted intimate moment with your new bride/groom and get that quick peek before everyone else does.
Marisa of Empora Floral Artistry did such an amazing job of all the floral arrangements. We are always excited when we work with her!
Oooh the bridesmaids and their awesome dresses from Anthropologie! An decided to opt out of the traditional bouquet for her bridesmaids and have them hold cute little pinwheels!
Phong and his groomsmen.
Yes…it is personalized Chuck Taylors!
Continuing on with their theme, An and Phong found a vintage Schwinn tandem bike to use!
Love that the ring bearer rode a cute Radio Flyer tricycle down the aisle with the flower girl in tow.
Instead of the traditional canvas portrait in the entrance way, An and Phong decided to paint one of their engagement portraits! Want to make one for yourself? Head over to Easy123Art’s website.
Another cute trend – forgoing the traditional guest book and having a thumbprint wedding tree instead! Phong drew and designed this awesome tree where guests would place their thumb print on one of the branches and signed their names below their imprint.
We’re dying to know how many books were used to decorate all their tables. They even incorporated Scrabble tiles to identify the table numbers for their guests. And yes – the table runners were made by the bride!!
Amazing cake and cupcakes by Sylvie from Kupcakespot. Cake topper was painted by the groom!
The cute honey-filled jars showed guests to their tables.
Watch out dancers – this four year old was tearing up the dance floor.
And yes the tandem bike was used as their getaway ride at the end of the evening.
I love all the fun fabrics used in this wedding and I adore the pin wheels!
