With weddings taking place these past few months and days getting shorter and shorter, I’ve neglected to take my bike out for a nice ride. During the summer you can find me riding about 20-30 miles around the Rose Bowl during the weekdays or riding through the hills in Orange County with a few of my buddies. Those rides are typically 40-60 miles. Some may think I’m crazy riding so many miles with my furthest distance at almost 100 miles (riding from OC to SD) but there is something exhilarating about a bike ride and challenging myself physically. Tracy goes with me occasionally although she prefers the safe route either going along the river trails from the SGV to Long Beach or having someone drop her off the top of a hill and riding straight down (okay she hasn’t done that yet – but she has thought it to avoid going UP the hill).
Anyway, I received an email to sign up for the Tour de Palm Springs this February. I think this email was a sign to get me back on the bike once again. Tracy and I are thinking about entering and will kick start the workout once again. Time will tell…first we just need to get back on the bike.
Here we are last year along the Santa Ana river wash – starting in Anaheim and riding down to Huntington Beach and back.
You can do it! Awesome to see couples who work together – work out together too.
