It’s finally Thursday and even though this was a short week (most used July 5th as a holiday in observance of Independence Day) – it seemed like this week lasted forever (or is it just me)! Well, not only do we have an engagement shoot teaser to share with you this week, we also wanted to share our first CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) delivery box with you all!
First, here is our engagement shoot teaser for you today. I just loved how the sun was setting on Amber and Joe! We will share more next week from our beachy session with them.
Now, about our first CSA delivery box. For those who are unaware of the CSA system, here is an excerpt from the Local Harvest website: “Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) has become a popular way for consumers to buy local, seasonal food directly from a farmer. Here are the basics: a farmer offers a certain number of “shares” to the public. Typically the share consists of a box of vegetables, but other farm products may be included. Interested consumers purchase a share (aka a “membership” or a “subscription”) and in return receive a box (bag, basket) of seasonal produce each week throughout the farming season.”
This is not our first time participating in a CSA program, but this is our first home delivery one thanks to Farm Fresh to You! What is so great about a CSA is not only the price, but the fact that you can eat your fruits and vegetables in season (the way they should be consumed). Our box came with romaine lettuce, carrots, grapes, blackberries, apricots, oranges, tomatoes, cucumbers, and so much more! We are definitely excited to dive into all the fresh and organic fruits in our box. If you are interested in participating in this program visit: http://www.farmfreshtoyou.com. Support your local farmers and businesses! 😀
Here’s our box and there are so much produce inside that I couldn’t even take a picture of the entire contents!
